NBA round-up: Detroit Pistons set single-season losing record

After suffering their 27th consecutive loss, the Detroit Pistons established a new record for the longest losing streak in an NBA season. This record was achieved after the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Pistons.

On Tuesday, Detroit suffered a defeat at home by a score of 118-112—despite the fact that they had won two of their first three games of this season.

A 97-92 advantage was kept by the Pistons in the fourth quarter, with Cade Cunningham, who had scored 41 points, serving as the team’s leader. After that, the Nets took control of the game with 13 consecutive points, and Cameron Johnson led the team in scoring with 24 points in their victory.

On Thursday, the Pistons will travel to Detroit to take on the Boston Celtics, who currently hold the best record in the National Basketball Association. In the event that they suffered another loss, they would draw even with the Philadelphia 76ers, who had a losing streak of 28 consecutive games between the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons.

In other news, Andre Drummond contributed to the Chicago Bulls’ victory over the Atlanta Hawks by scoring 24 points and grabbing 25 rebounds. The final score was 118-113.

Drummond became only the sixth player in NBA history to post 20 points or more and 20 or more rebounds in the same game this season. The Bulls won their fourth game in a row, expanding their winning streak to five games.

Through a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 116-115 in overtime, the Memphis Grizzlies were able to secure their fourth consecutive victory in a span of eight days.

A social media post resulted in a 25-game suspension for Ja Morant, who returned to the Memphis team last week after serving the suspension. Morant ended with a game-high 31 points.

During the last minute of the game, Jaren Jackson Jr. made two consecutive two-point shots, giving Memphis a four-point advantage against Memphis. The score remained tied at 109-109 throughout the game.

Anthony Black, a rookie, scored a career-high 23 points to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Washington Wizards by a score of 127-119. The Wizards made a late charge, but the Magic were able to prevail.

An additional 24 points were scored by Paolo Banchero, and Franz Wagner contributed 28 points to Orlando’s triumph, which was their second victory in three days.

With a score of 123-117, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Houston Rockets, and eight of their players scored in double figures.

Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 33 points and 10 assists, while Myles Turner contributed 18 points to the team’s performance. However, Houston was defeated for the fourth time in six games this season.

In other news, the San Antonio Spurs suffered their 23rd loss in a span of 24 games when they were defeated by the Utah Jazz by a score of 130-118. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder triumphed over the Minnesota Timberwolves by a score of 129-106.
