Pennsylvania gained three new laws on Wednesday after Governor Josh Shapiro signed three house legislations.
The new laws establish the capital budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 (HB 2328) and make modifications to supervisor salary in second-class townships (HB 2288) and the Temporary Access Certificate (HB 1567).
According to the memo accompanying HB 2288, the law eliminates the “stagnant cap on compensation for supervisors in 2nd Class Townships, which has not been adjusted since 1995.” The bill’s primary sponsor is State Representative Jim Marshall.
Prior to HB 1567, tenants were required to vacate their rental property while problems were resolved, but they are now permitted to “remain in the property, dependent on the property’s safety and habitability and approval of the municipal code enforcement officer.” The primary sponsor of this bill is State Representative Steven Malgarai.
