This week, Washington booted a Pennsylvania Democrat, clamping a wheel on her Toyota RAV-4 after the representative built up hundreds of outstanding fines for a run of parking violations in the District, including improperly parking in a handicap space.
In response, the city disabled her automobile with a vehicle boot in the Navy Yard neighborhood, according to images acquired by The Post.
Parking enforcement records show that Rep. Susan Wild, a third-term Democrat representing Pennsylvania’s toss-up 7th District, owes $775 for four separate offenses.
To get the boot removed, she’ll have to pay at least $475 of her debt.
That is the cost of two penalties she received for tag and speeding offenses in December 2023 and May 2024, respectively.
The other two tickets, which account for Wild’s remaining $300, are for separate tag and speeding offenses she incurred in May and July 2024.
In a previous photo, Wild’s vehicle, a white SUV adorned with a Ukrainian flag and a few other bumper stickers, was illegally parked in a handicap area without the required badge visible.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard of reckless drivers’ reckless driving habits.
In 2022, a distracted-driving activist chastised her for taking a Zoom chat with constituents while driving recklessly, calling the representative “stupid as hell.”
Mike Marinella, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, believes Wild owes the public an apology.
“Susan Wild’s complete disregard for her constituents and the general public is a concerning pattern that she should apologize for,” the politician told The Post.
“Wild continuously talks down on her own constituents, disparages local veterans, and can care less about the rules because she likes playing congresswoman instead of actually delivering results for Pennsylvanians,” the politician said.
Wild, who is in a tight fight with GOP candidate state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, is no stranger to unusual incidents, having been forced to apologize many times for declaring rural residents newly added to her district “drunk the Trump Kool-Aid.”
The representative’s personal Facebook page has also caused her some trouble in this campaign, as she dubbed a veteran she met at a Memorial Day parade this year “homophobic” and earlier encouraged people to “pay a visit” to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home in 2019.
