In Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Nash County deputies were involved in a pursuit after attempting to identify the driver of a suspicious vehicle. The driver, however, chose to flee the scene and ended up colliding with a Nash County deputy’s vehicle. Despite this, the driver managed to escape and a high-speed chase ensued on Interstate 95. The pursuit continued through Halifax County and eventually into Northampton County, with the driver reaching speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour.
Troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol provided assistance during the pursuit, successfully forcing the vehicle to halt near the N.C/Virginia state border. Subsequently, the driver, identified as Kenneth Wilson Crider from Poolesville, MD, was apprehended.
The authorities discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from Pennsylvania. Additionally, Crider was wanted in Pennsylvania for his role in the theft of a vehicle and a dog.
Crider faced the following charges:

- Felony hit-and-run

- Felony fleeing to elude law enforcement

Crider remained incarcerated in the Nash County Detention Center, with no option for release on bond.
