JD Vance, the vice presidential nominee, found himself in the midst of controversy after being asked to leave a Primanti Bros. restaurant in Pennsylvania. The incident, which was not his fault, sparked a wave of debate and discussion.
While in Pennsylvania, Vance visited Primanti Bros., a popular eatery in North Versailles. However, he was asked to leave by the management or they would involve the authorities, as reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The company later issued a statement, stating that there was confusion among management and workers who were unaware of his arrival.
“Primanti’s prides itself on being a staple of the Pittsburgh community and a proud American business that has hosted sitting presidents, politicians, and political candidates from across the spectrum for over 90 years. Our doors are open to all patrons who wish to dine with us. Without any advance notice, today’s campaign stop caused some momentary confusion for our staff. However, Senator Vance and his team were welcomed into our restaurant shortly after and engaged with our guests inside and on the property. Sam Demarco, an Allegheny County councilman, refuted the statement released by Primanti Bros., asserting that Vance and his team were not greeted warmly at the restaurant. According to a post on X, Demarco stated that Vance’s team had contacted Primanti Bros. in advance, and the restaurant had even prepared a sandwich for him. Demarco added that Vance only entered the establishment to cover the cost of everyone’s meal.
Recently, Kamala Harris, the current vice president and presidential candidate, paid a visit to Primanti Bros. in the Pittsburgh area. Social media users swiftly alleged that customers were requested to relocate and vacate their seats to make room for actors, presumably for the purpose of shooting a campaign video.
