Attorney General Kris Mayes announced today’s sentence for Lino Bol, a member of a multistate drug trafficking group that operated in Arizona, Texas, Iowa, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Illinois.
According to Mayes, Bol was part of a group that was in charge of distributing fentanyl throughout the states.
“My office will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle drug trafficking organizations that ship fentanyl into Arizona and our local communities,” Mayes stated.
“I’m proud of the Attorney General’s Office’s dedicated agents, investigators, and prosecutors who work hard every day to protect Arizonans.” Those involved in illegal drug trafficking should be aware that my office, along with our law enforcement allies, will locate and prosecute you.”
An investigation into banking, shipping, and phone data led law officials to contact Bol and other members of the criminal business.
The inquiry indicated that Bol’s organization was involved in the shipment of substantial amounts of fentanyl to dealers in various states.
Bol operated from Texas, transferring $68,862 to Tucson and receiving 16 parcels containing suspected fentanyl.
Law enforcement agents intercepted some of these shipments and discovered a substantial quantity of fentanyl pills, estimated at over 16,000 based on the money moved and messages exchanged.
On August 21, 2024, Bol pleaded guilty to one count of illegally conducting an enterprise and one count of attempting transportation for sale of a narcotic drug, both Class Three crimes.
On September 19, 2024, Bol received a sentence of three years probation and one year in the Pima County Jail.
