An IMPD officer who was charged with seven felonies in connection with a child molestation case in Hendricks County earlier this month has been arrested again.
Court records state that Kamal Bola’s arrest for violating a no-contact order occurred on Tuesday.
On September 3, Hendricks County arrested Bola and charged him with three counts of child molestation under the age of 14 and public voyeurism. Additional charges were later imposed. The following list shows the seven total charges:
Count 1: Child molesting – Sexual intercourse – Level 1 Felony
Count 2: Sexual Misconduct with a minor – Level 4 Felony
Count 3: Child molesting – Fondling (Breast) – Level 4 Felony
Count 4: Child molesting – Fondling (Penis/Buttocks) – Level 4 Felony
Count 5: Sexual Misconduct with a minor – Lever 6 Felony
Count 6: Voyeurism. Level 6 Felony
Count 7: Obstruction of justice. Level 6 Felony
Court documents reveal Bola’s release from jail on Sept. 18. At his initial hearing, the court set his bond at $30,000.
The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Bola. Detectives looked into the claims and established probable grounds to arrest Bola.
According to court documents, Bola admitted “touching” a youngster aged 14 or younger on numerous occasions. He also admitted placing a small camera in the victim’s room.
According to court filings, the child’s mother spotted the camera while cleaning the victim’s room.
Bola admitted to police that he messed up and corroborated his confession by drafting an apology letter to the victim.
The letter said, “I am extremely sorry for what I did. I shouldn’t have touched you like this. I feel very ashamed and embarrassed.”
The message went on, “Please don’t think of me as a monster.”
The victim told authorities she thought she was 12 or 13 when the inappropriate touching started.
Bola said police would find indecent images of the girl on his phone.
According to IMPD, they heard about the arrest on Wednesday.
The police confiscated Bola’s equipment and stripped him of his authority.
IMPD Chief Chris Bailey suspended Bola from the department and recommended his termination to the IMPD Merit Board.
Hendricks Superior Court 4 will host Bola’s jury trial on November 12 at 8:30 a.m.
