Even with the debut of Danny Earls against the Rochester Rhinos, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds could not find a win on Saturday evening.

The Riverhounds, who traveled up to Sahlen’s Stadium, fell back into the loss column with a 2-1 loss against the Rhinos. The Rhinos got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 8′ minute from Joseph Farrell.

The Riverhounds had a few attempts to get past Rhinos goalkeeper Adam Grinwis, but it didn’t come until the 45′ minute with Corey Hertzog’s header, which was assisted by captain Kevin Kerr.

However, the lead didn’t last long. The Rhinos took the lead again in the 60′ minute off of Michael Garzi that went right past Riverhounds goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap. The Riverhounds attempted a few more chances, but none could get past Grinwis to provide a draw. Instead, the Rhinos took the win 2-1.

The Riverhounds will face the Harrisburg City Islanders at Highmark Stadium on Monday, July 4, starting at 7 p.m. The Riverhounds were supposed to face the Islanders in the second same of the season, but due to weather the match was cancelled.
