So long, Ben DiNucci.

The University of Pittsburgh quarterback announced Thursday afternoon that he would be transferring in January from the university and football program.

DiNucci made the announcement on his Twitter page.

“Pittsburgh, thank you for the last 3 years,” DiNucci wrote. “Thank you Coach Narduzzi and the rest of the staff for everything you guys have done for me. At this time I will be transferring and enrolling in January with 2 years left of eligibility. H2P.”

DiNucci, a sophomore this past season, threw five touchdowns and five interceptions after taking over the reins from Max Browne.

The Wexford, Pa., native completed 88 of 158 passes for 1,091 yards.

DiNucci’s quarterback rating was a low¬†62.9, according to ESPN. In addition, he was sacked 14 times.

DiNucci did not name a school he would be transferring too.

The 6’2 quarterback attended Pine-Richland High School before accepting a scholarship to attend Pitt.

The school and head coach Pat Narduzzi have yet to make a comment on the decision.
